Process

Our Discovery Process

Every Financial Life Planning engagement begins with five conversations that start with your life, not your portfolio. We don’t make a single recommendation until we’ve done all five — only then can we be sure our advice is truly in your best interest.

Each meeting runs between 30 and 120 minutes.

  1. 1

    Two Free Meetings

We learn what matters most to you — and what’s keeping you up at night.

You see exactly how we operate: our onboarding, the yearly service calendar, and what you’ll pay.

  2. 2

    Life’s Point A

We explore the experiences that shaped how you think about money.

Then we look across nine dimensions of your life to see which ones are ready for an upgrade.

  3. 3

    Get Organized

We review every part of your financial life, so we both know exactly where you’re starting.

You get a personal financial portal — one place where everything lives, always current.

  4. 4

    Your Ideal Life

You picture the life you want, and we prioritize what comes first.

Then we pressure-test what it costs and talk honestly about the tradeoffs.

  5. 5

    Money Meets Purpose

We go deep on every area of the plan, exposing risks and highlighting tradeoffs.

We walk you through draft recommendations and how each one serves your vision.

Putting the Plan in Motion

From there you get a game plan with a clear to-do list, and our support at every step. We aim to complete implementation within six months.

Annual Service Calendar

The only certainty is that things will change — your priorities, your family, your health, the tax code. We’re here to help you think through anything that calls for a pivot.

We meet at least twice a year to make adjustments and confirm you’re still on track for what matters most. Between those meetings, we’re always reachable by email, phone or in person.

Early-year meetings
  • Celebrate what you accomplished last year and set priorities for the new one
  • Update cash flow to match the year’s goals
  • Review your financial freedom metrics to confirm you’re on track
  • Help with tax preparation so filing is stress-free
Year-end meetings
  • Rotating review of your estate plan, insurance needs and risk profile
  • Guidance on employee benefits and open enrollment, where they apply
  • Finalize tax projections and put year-end strategies in place
  • Review and close out anything still outstanding

And throughout the year, behind the scenes

  • Updating projections as new information arrives
  • Portfolio review, tax-loss harvesting and rebalancing
  • Coordinating with your CPA, attorney and insurance agent
  • Educational content on rotating topics
  • Market commentary
